The Story of Sabrina Fair...
During quarantine, I was rewatching a lot of oldie-but-goodie romantic comedies. One of my favorites that I had forgotten about was a 1995 film called Sabrina starring Harrison Ford, Julia Ormond and Greg Kinnear. It's based on a 1954 remake starring Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn and William Holden. (Dare I say-- It's the only remake I've ever thought was better than the original)!
In the story of Sabrina, Sabrina Fairchild is the nerdy daughter of a chaffeur for an incredibly wealthy family. Her name, you learn, is based on a John Milton poem, 'Sabrina Fair.' In the movie, she goes to Paris and comes into her own as a woman. Upon her return home, she's gorgeously Parisian, cultured and confident. (I mean, hello, every girl's dream!)
Because my speciality is in a transformational style of photography-- taking everyday women, giving them full hair and make-up, and letting them be the celebrity for a day, photographing them in a way that leaves them feeling beautiful and confident, I loved the idea of honoring her transformation. It also helps that I've always said I was going to Paris 'one day' and am finally planning a trip for 2023. C'est magnifique!
So come see me for a transformational experience and I will leave you feeling like Sabrina Fairchild herself. And with the most gorgeous portraits that tell your story. xoxo
